Integrated Liberal Studies

Sam Kapp

Sam did not need to take the tour of UW-Madison; he knew it was the place for him as soon as he saw Bascom Hill and State Street. Born and raised in New York City, Sam wanted a campus feel with the city life that was familiar to him, as well as a university that gives room for a completely undecided student to explore. Currently a Junior, Sam is a double major in Economics and International Studies, is planning on obtaining an ILS certificate, and is studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the Spring. Outside the classroom you may find Sam riding his bike along Lakeshore, eating at the Union terrace, or exploring the many opportunities that the UW and Madison have to offer. Sam is currently studying abroad in Argentina for the Spring 2010 semester.

Sam has taken and highly recommends the following ILS courses:

ILS 209 - Intro to Global Cultures
ILS 251 - Contemporary Physical Science
ILS 252 - Contemporary Life Sciences
ILS 371 - Literature Seminar: The Temptation of Hope with Prof. Klaus Berghahn
