Jeffry Casey
Jeff Casey is a PhD student in Theatre Research. He was raised in rural West Texas and lived most of his adult life in Austin, TX before moving to New York City and subsequently to Madison. He completed a BA in philosophy and English literature at the University of Texas at Austin, where he later also earned an MA in creative writing. His current research is centered around masculinity studies but includes a wide range of subjects such as performance art, media studies and performance studies. Jeff is also an art practitioner. His original play Hermetic was produced at the Hemsley Theatre of UW-Madison in the Spring of 2009. He co-curated the art exhibition Unstable Systems at the Art Lofts of UW-Madison in the Spring of 2012. His on-going art and performance project Habeas Corpus (2010-present) examines death and mourning in contemporary culture.
This spring semester, Jeff is one of the TAs for ILS 204.
