Adrienne Hagen


Adrienne received her BA in Classics from the University of Mary Washington, where she also completed the Education program. After teaching high school in Virginia and middle school in Colorado, Adrienne entered the graduate program in Classics at UW-Madison. Her MA thesis examined the role of free speech in Athenian democracy through the lens of Aeschylus’ Oresteia, and her broader research interests include ancient views on agriculture and rustic life, social constructions of gender, and the place of the individual within society. She enjoys bicycling daily and gardening.

This fall, Adrienne Hagen is a teaching assistant for ILS 203.
