Molly is a third-year graduate student in the history of medicine at UW-Madison. She completed a BA in comparative literature at Smith College and worked as a science journalist before beginning graduate school. She is interested in researching the development of nutrition science in the nineteenth century, focusing on how biochemical research influenced popular and medical conceptions of health and a healthy diet. Her broader academic interests include the interactions between medicine and biology, scientific theories of race, and late nineteenth-century social and health reform movements.
