Vicki is a master's student in the department of medical history and bioethics. She has a bachelor's degree in history from UC Santa Barbara and a master's degree in art history from the University of Virginia. Her current research centers on the use of various forms of visual media in the representation of medicine and disease in America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, especially in relationship to race and gender. She is also strangely fascinated by medical oddities, medical collections, and theories of teratology.
