Current Job Title: Assistant Director of Social Media & Executive Social Media Manager for the Chancellor.
Any previous jobs, continued education, or other experiences that have been meaningful to you: Formerly at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) as a Research Associate then Communications & Social Media Associate. I worked on federal and state contracts to support education-related research and amplify federal youth policy priorities. While in grad school I worked at the Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) and loved it!
How has your ILS experience influenced your life (either within or outside the workplace)? ILS opened my eyes to how often history repeats itself in our society. So many of the parallels from ancient Greek philosophical principles matter so much in our modern political culture. ILS taught me how to understand historical concepts and apply them to the work I do today.
Do you have a favorite ILS professor, class or memory that you’d like to share? Sports & Politics was my favorite! Taught by Michael Promisel (no longer here), ILS 205.
Any advice for current students? Follow what excites you! College is such a fantastic time to explore new things and find what you are really passionate about.
