Admission
Am I eligible?
Undergraduate students from any school or college on the UW-Madison campus are eligible for the Health and the Humanities certificate program. With other eligibility questions see our FAQ or talk with a certificate advisor.
Students earning the Global Health Certificate or Major are not eligible for the HatH Certificate.
How can I declare?
The HatH Certificate is a limited enrollment certificate and holds an application cycle each semester. This website page will be updated at the start of each term with specific deadlines.
For important details on certificate declaration requirements and a list of Core Courses, please see Guide.
If you have any questions about the HatH Certificate, or if you’d like to discuss the certificate with an advisor, you’re welcome to connect with HatH Academic Advisor Laura Bradley via email at: LSBradley@wisc.edu or schedule an advising appointment via Starfish.
Spring 2026 Application Cycle:
Attending a Health and the Humanities Certificate information session is required for application to the certificate. You only need to attend one session, and the same content will be covered at each session. There will be in-person and virtual options, and sessions will last about 30 minutes. If you attended an info session in a previous semester, you don’t need to do so again this spring to apply.
If you’re unable to attend an info session, please contact HatH Advisor Laura Bradley, at: LSBradley@wisc.edu to discuss options.
- Virtual Session: Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 4:00 – 4:30pm via Zoom (link will be shared via email)
